To See or Not to See: 4th Man Out

4th Man Out

4th Man Out is a heartwarming comedy about acceptance, identity, and friendship. It follows a young man as he comes to terms with his sexuality. And, the uncertainty that follows when telling his closest friends and family. How will they react? And, will their relationships change? This coming-out story will bring the laughs and undoubtedly touch your heart.

Adam (Evan Todd) is a blue-collar mechanic celebrating his 24th birthday. As he approaches adulthood, he’s struggling with the fact that he’s not living an authentic life and is determined to be true to himself. But, how will his close-knit group of friends: Chris (Parker Young), Nick (Chord Overstreet), and Ortu (Jon Gabrus) handle the news? They’ve created an unbreakable friendship bonding over poker, sports, booze, and yes, girls.

The movie does a terrific job pairing humor with heartfelt moments as Adam summons the courage to tell his friends. While Chris, Nick, and Ortu assure Adam that nothing has changed, it’s clear that’s not the case. The three friends are confused and a little bit uncomfortable. And, the film does not shy away from showing it through lighthearted encounters and experiences—making it feel more realistic. In the end, the boys realize that Adam is the same guy they know and love. And, they’ll always support him.

While you may not have heard of 4th Man Out, it’s definitely a film that’ll resonant with any audience. Evan Todd, Parker Young, Chord Overstreet, and Jon Gabrus have undeniable chemistry—it never feels fake. And, that bodes well with the film’s various themes. They’ll make you laugh, cry, and teach you the value of true friendship. I can’t recommend the film enough!

4th Man Out is available on Blu-Ray, DVD, iTunes, or Netflix.
