After having been snowed out halfway through the show back in January, Heroes & Villains Fan Fest returned to New Jersey this past weekend. Fans of comic books, superheroes, and a bunch of TV shows (mainly Arrow, The Flash, and Gotham) flocked to the Meadowlands Expo Center for some great panels, activities, and, of course, to meet some of their favorite superheroes and villains! Some of the highlights included:

The Panels

The show kick-offed on Saturday morning with some of Arrow’s fan favorites: Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne), Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), Donna Smoak (Charlotte Ross), and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough). Katie Cassidy described why the cast loves working on Arrow just as much as fans love watching it, “You never know what can happen in this universes, and that is really interesting”. Other panel highlights from the weekend included an announcement from Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen/Green Arrow) that professional wrestler Cody Rhodes will guest star on Arrow next season (if you haven’t seen their epic wrestling match, check it out). Danielle Panabaker had a solo panel about The Flash and said what every female fan has wished for: “If the timeline is reset, can’t Robbie Amell come back & be happily married to Caitlin?”. YES YES YES.

The Cosplay

As always, there were some fantastic costumes. Even Stephen Amell thought so:

The Meet-and-Greet Line-up

From Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow on The Flash) to Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter on Agent Carter, Captain America, etc) to Milo Ventimiglia (Jason Lennon on Gotham), there really was someone everyone attending wanted to meet. All of the actors were gracious, friendly, and personable at their booths. They signed hundreds of autographs, took just as many pictures (or quadruple the amount in selfies in Milo Ventimiglia’s case!), and generated an air of excitement among the fans attending.

What Would Have Made Heroes & Villains Even Better?

We’d love to see them bring some of our favorites from The Flash (Cisco, Harrison Wells, and Barry Allen) to the next one!

Overall, Heroes & Villains Fan Fest is, as we’ve said before, a stellar show to attend. They have a few more shows around the country so be sure to see if they’ll be at a city near you!

Taraneh

Taraneh has been happily living in NYC for over a decade, but originally hails from the Midwest. Enamored with books at a young age, she grew up making stories, playing make believe, and loving the musical and performing arts. She is great at binge-watching TV shows. Some current favorites: Schitt's Creek, A Court of Mist & Fury, Prince Harry, and The Magicians.
