Hulu Renews ‘Future Man’ and Marvel’s ‘Runaways’

Runaways and Future Man

It’s official! Hulu—the premium streaming service—announced not one but two renewals today. Both Future Man and Marvel’s Runaways will receive thirteen more episodes, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Both series premiered last fall and received stellar reviews from critics and viewers alike. So, the news isn’t too surprising, but nothing beats the official word.

Adapted from the comics written by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, Runaways is a coming-of-age tale that finds six teenagers with emerging abilities who must band together to stop a crime organization called Pride. Series stars include Virginia Gardner, Lyrica Okano, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Rhenzy Feliz, and Allegra Acosta.

Future Man is the epic tale of video-game obsessed Josh Futterman (Josh Hutcherson). By day, he’s a janitor at a local laboratory. The scientists there are on the search for a cure for…wait for it…herpes. By night, Josh is steadily making his way through a video game called Biotic Wars; he’s a hero in that digital world. It turns out, though, that Biotic Wars is a simulation from the future. So, when Josh wins Biotic Wars, the main characters, Tiger (Eliza Coupe) and Wolf (Derek Wilson), appear to recruit him to join their fight. In the future, the cure for herpes is discovered, but it leads to the end of the world, and more time travel and hilarity ensures.
