Ones to Watch: K.J. Apa
K.J. Apa is an up-and-coming New Zealand actor, who is poised to be one of the year’s breakout stars (and, likely, you’re new #ManCrushEveryday). He’s talented, charismatic, driven, and has undeniable presence—making him the perfect leading man. And, it’s safe to say, no one is having a better week than him. His much-talked-about film, A Dog’s Purpose, is out this Friday. In it, he stars alongside Dennis Quaid, Britt Robertson, and the most adorable puppies you’ll ever see! It promises to be a feel-good movie that’ll warm your heart. But, that’s not all. His new series, Riverdale, premieres tonight on The CW. It’s one of the most buzzed about new shows. And, you’ve probably already guess it, but it’s based on the Archie Comics that we all grew up loving.
K.J. will play Archie Andrews, the all-American boy who’s discovered his passion in life is to write and perform his own music. He’s set on making his dreams come true while dealing with the ups and downs of high school, which now includes a murder case involving one of his classmates. His performance is receiving rave reviews from critics and we can’t say we’re surprised.
Already a huge star in New Zealand, where his television credits include Shortland Street and the thrilling sci-fi series, The Cul de Sac, we’re positive Riverdale will be the role that makes K.J. Apa a household name in the states. Make sure to check out the trailers for A Dog’s Purpose and Riverdale below!
