Ones to Watch: Taron Egerton

Taron Egerton

Sharing the same screen with the likes of Colin Firth, Michael Caine, and Samuel L. Jackson is no easy feat. But, this Welsh heartthrob has proven he’s more than capable. In 2014, he played Gary “Eggsy” Unwin—bad boy turned spy—in Matthew Vaughn’s blockbuster: Kingsman: The Secret Service. The role established Taron Egerton as one of Hollywood’s breakout stars. Now, he can be seen in theaters as Eddie the Eagle, alongside Hugh Jackman.

Taron’s love for acting started at a young age. He caught the bug after performing in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream. From there, he went to study drama at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. He’s performed on the London National Theatre stage and has several British T.V. credits to his name.

When it comes to cinematic debuts, it doesn’t get much bigger than Kingsman: The Secret Service. The film transformed the talented actor into a global superstar. Forbes named him one of their “30 Under 30” you need to look for and Variety proclaimed “a star is born.”

His performance in Kingsman is first rate. He perfectly brings Eggsy’s smugness and sincerity to life. He’s proven he has all the qualities needed to be a leading man. And, fully deserves all the accolades he’s received including his BAFTA Rising Star nomination.

Taron is taking Hollywood by storm. Make sure to check him out in Eddie the Eagle, in theaters now! Also, his upcoming projects include Billionaire Boys Club, Robin Hood: Origins, and Kingsman 2.
