Exclusive Interview: Pop Culturalist Chats with Vincent Farr

Vincent Farr

Rising actor Vincent Farr is just getting his feet wet in the industry, but we know big things are ahead. He already has several huge credits under his belt including The Dark Knight Rises, One Tree Hill, and The Blacklist. It’s hard to believe he never imagined a career as an actor. We recently caught up with Vincent in between projects to chat about getting his start.

PC: How did you discover your passion for acting?
Vincent: My passion for acting was something I never really knew I had until I started taking acting classes. It was never something I thought about or dreamed about as a kid, but the experience I had being on set sparked my interest. At first, it started as a hobby and transformed into something I really wanted to pursue as a career. I’ve always felt that I was put on this earth to entertain people and make a difference in people’s lives.

PC: Who or what has had the biggest influence on your career?
Vincent: The biggest influence comes from my desire to escape reality. Acting offers me the opportunity to temporarily explore being someone other than myself. Acting allows me to be someone that I cannot be in real life.

PC: You are an up-and-coming actor who already has a few credits under his belt. What is one thing you know about the industry now that you wish you knew when you started?
Vincent: I’ve learned that it’s important to follow the standards and trends of the industry. I also believe that all the stars (no pun intended) have to align in this business for you to have success. What’s meant to be, will be.

PC: You recently wrapped on Avengement. Tell us about the short, your character, and what drew you to this project?
Vincent: Avengement is a short film that was written and directed by a good friend of mine, Edward Turner. Avengement is about two homicide detectives who investigate a series of murders that may or not be connected to each other. I play Officer Patrick. He is a security guard and you will just have to wait to see the film to see how he fits into everything. Avengement will be screened at the Niagara Falls International Film Festival, which takes place on September 18th through the 21st.

PC: You are going to film Evil in Plain Sight soon. Is there anything you can tease about that project?
Vincent: Evil in Plain Sight is a feature film based on a true story about a deranged serial killer slaying innocent women in the red light district of Houston, Texas. I play the role of Detective Chase McGowen. It is written and produced by Sarah Kathleen Sullivan and directed by award-winning director Michael W. Green. We are tentatively scheduled to begin filming later this year to be released sometime in 2020.

PC: As you continue to build your career, what are some aspirations you hope to accomplish in the next five to ten years?
Vincent: I aspire to land a series regular role on a network TV series or a lead role in a feature film. But most of all and I tell everyone who asks me this question, I just want to be a working actor. I want to replace my current day job with a career of an actor.
