Syfy Greenlights Krypton

Krypton

Television upfronts are upon us and that means we’ll soon learn about the new shows coming our way and what’s been renewed. We doubt anything will top the announcement that Syfy made today. They have officially picked up the Superman prequel, Krypton, straight to series. Created by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight and Man of Steel), Krypton is the latest show to join the highly successful DC television universe.

The series stars Cameron Cuffe as Superman’s grandfather Seg-El, Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod, Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex, Ian McElhinney as Seg-El’s grandfather, Ann Ogbomo as Alura Zod, Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vex, Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, and Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em.

Here’s the show’s official description:

Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather—whose House of El was ostracized and shamed—as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.
