Exclusive Interview: Pop Culturalist Chats with Hunter Veech

Hunter Veech

Hunter Veech founded LYFERYSE to inspire others to be the best versions of themselves. He believes the first step to a happier life is through fitness and has dedicated his life to that mission. Pop Culturalist was lucky enough to speak with Hunter about LYFERYSE.

PC: How did you get started as an entrepreneur?
Hunter: I had always done personal training as a side hustle and business, but I saw an Instagram post saying, “The things you want to do might not make sense to anyone else, but if they make sense to you then why are you not doing them?” That stuck out to me, and I knew right then that I wanted to help people out with life and with fitness and to change my clients’ lives for the better. I knew that I had something different to offer people, something special. I understand people. I have been around the world to places that aren’t so nice and to places that are too nice. I want to be my own boss and help people achieve whatever goals they may have in life and help them take care of themselves. I believe fitness is one of the very first steps—whether it’s strictly for the sake of fitness or fitness that leads to healthier relationships with friends, work colleagues, spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, whatever it might be. I want to help people improve their lives.

PC: Tell us about LYFERYSE and the mission behind the company.
Hunter: LYFERYSE stands for “Live Your Fitness Everyday, Redefine Your Situation Everyday.” We specialize in Hollywood fitness as well as Olympic lifting, bodybuilding, powerlifting, and just overall general fitness. The mission behind my company is to inspire people to believe in themselves and to reach for what they want to get out of life. I want to get them into fitness first, but what comes along with fitness is a happier life—you feel better about yourself, your job, your relationships, and your overall health. I want to help people achieve these goals through fitness. That is when the real process starts—when your fitness translates into your everyday activities, from the way you feel in the gym to how you feel waking up. To get your mindset to change from “I have to go to the gym” to saying “I have to take a rest day.” They are completely different mindsets. It’s about rewiring your brain into thinking positive and through that the process of manifesting willing positivity into existence. We strive to unlock people’s peak fitness levels and mindfulness.

We offer in-person training, online training, Zoom training, all aspects of fitness programming and regiment work, and diet and nutrition.

PC: In your mission statement, you stated that one of the goals of LYFERYSE is to inspire others to overcome obstacles. What is the biggest adversity that you’ve faced in your own life? What did you learn from that experience that’s shaped the person you are today?
Hunter: The biggest obstacle I have personally overcome is my own guilt and demons. When I came back from military deployment and private contracting, I was not in a very good place mentally. I dealt with lack of sleep, alcohol abuse, and being a very angry person in general. I had lost some of my best friends from contracting work and a couple to suicide. I used to blame myself for their deaths. Those were things I had to overcome. So I reached out to a couple of people I knew who did coaching, and I was on the mend. I started working out again and started getting the proper help I needed. The hardest part for me was telling my friends because I was scared of their judgment, if they would have any at all. I always thought negatively. But when I told them, they told me that nothing was wrong with me and that I was okay. So I slowly but surely got my life back in order.

I had a relapse one time. It was the anniversary of my best friend’s death. Ultimately, I had an epiphany and thought to myself, “What am I doing to myself?” That is when I reached out to a TikTok family I had been following for a while, and the mom (her name is Jenn Moudy) helped me out. I realized that I wasn’t some broken person. I was just lost. So from there I restarted working out, watching podcasts, watching shows and videos, and talking to different fitness professionals. I surrounded myself with successful people and friends that supported me.

But I learned that no matter what happens in your life, there is a reason for it. It is your job to find out the meaning of it, and from there you can make it negative or positive in your mind. With everything I have been through, everything I have lost and have gained, the loving people I have in my life, the process of accepting the love I know now that I deserve—this is all who I am today. I want nothing but the best for everyone. Even if they doubt themselves, I still see the best in them. Because of everything I have been through, I still struggle, but I know I am not damaged or broken. I am just me, and that is pretty damn all right.

PC: Has anything surprised you about the journey of launching LYFERYSE? What advice would you give fellow entrepreneurs looking to get started?
Hunter: The thing that actually surprised me the most is the good positive feedback I have been getting. No one has wished bad on me or tried to tear me down. Everyone on my social media pages has said nothing but the most positive, kind words to me.

My advice would be, “Have friends that know your worth, that support you no matter what, and that won’t put you down. Like-minded people think the best of each other. It’s your life. You only have one. Do what you love and fu*k what other people think. You do what makes you happy. It is your life. You live it the way you want to. Mindset is everything. Believe in yourself. Stay true to yourself. Never compromise your morals for others. Be honest and loyal and love the people you surround yourself with unconditionally. Be you. Believe in yourself. Make that goal attainable. Once you meet that goal, set another one. Strive for excellence. You are writing your own book.”

PC: How can people get involved with LYFERYSE? What’s ahead for the company in 2022?
Hunter: LYFERYSE is ever expanding. You can DM us, email us, contact us via story and shout out—any way you can. It is growing by the day. How to get involved is by representing the brand right now. The merch drop is coming out here in a couple of weeks. We are aiming for the second Friday in February for the first drop. Spread the word and share it with friends and family. We are looking to have 150 clients under our team by the end of 2022 and then just keep growing from there. We want to branch out more into the celebrity scene right now, as well as to the average person too. We accept everyone at LYFERYSE. No other coaching staff will suit your needs like we do. We also currently have some models that are amazing. At the end of this week, we are running our first promotional video. That will be so exciting. We are also currently working with the Veterans Affairs group for post-rehabilitation strength and functionality and mobility training for veterans. Currently, we are nationwide, but we will hit international by halfway through this year!
