Book Review: Ashes of Gold by J. Elle

Ashes of Gold

Ashes of Gold is the final book in the Wings of Ebony duology! It’s packed with romance, magic, and incredible characters. This book continues to follow Rue’s quest to take back her people’s stolen magic, but will a betrayal put that into jeopardy? Rue will have to figure out who to trust before time runs out for her and her people.

Ashes of Gold comes out on January 11, 2022. You can get your copy here!

Highlights

  • This book has high stakes! I loved how fast-paced this book was.
  • Rue is a head-strong protagonist and I loved reading about her! It’s been a while since I really loved the main character.
  • Sister bonding moments!
  • This book has romance, magic, and shows the importance of fighting for what you believe in.

Lowlights

  • It’s not exactly a lowlight, but it would be cool to get a chapter or a bonus chapter from Rue’s sister’s point of view.

Final Thoughts: Rue is very indecisive about her two love interests, but I don’t blame her for that. I wish she ended up with the one I was rooting for, but other than that I don’t have any complaints. I loved the plot twist and how the magic is woven into the story.
