#TBT: Best Character Lines from Star Wars

This month, our #TBT theme is Sci-Fi and Fantasy, so we’re kicking things off with a roundup of the best lines from some of our favorite characters from the Star Wars franchise!

Han Solo (Harrison Ford)

“Kid, I’ve flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I’ve seen a lot of strange stuff, but I’ve never seen anything to make me believe that there’s one all-powerful Force controlling everything. ‘Cause no mystical field controls my destiny. It’s all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.”

Want to try some “simple tricks and nonsense” on me, Han?

Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill)

“Because there is good in him. I’ve felt it. He won’t turn me over to the Emperor. I can save him. I can turn him back to the good side. I have to try.”

Oh, Luke. Always seeing the best in people.

Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher)

“Why, you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf-herder!”

Alas, most of Princess Leia’s most memorable quotes are when she’s asking for help. The Princess Leia I know is a fighter, not a helpless victim. Her fights with Han Solo are especially epic.

Yoda (Frank Oz)

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

Do you ever wish Oprah had handed out pocket Yodas on her annual Christmas giveaways? “You get a pocket Yoda! And you get a pocket Yoda! Everyone gets a pocket Yodaaaaaaa!”

Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness)

“Use the Force, Luke.”

One of the most quoted lines in the entire franchise so it obviously had to make our list.

Rey (Daisy Ridley)

“Stop taking my hand!”

You don’t need to save her, Finn. She can save herself– thanks, though!

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver)

“I will finish what you started.”

#WorstSonEver

Finn (John Boyega)

“I was raised to do one thing, but I’ve got nothing to fight for.”

Soon, my friend. Soon.

Maza Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o)

“Dear child, the longing you seek is not behind you; it is in front of you.”

If we can’t get a pocket Yoda, can we at least get a pocket Maza Kanata?
