SDCC 2017: Everything We Learned from the iZombie Press Room

The iZombie season three finale was one for the ages, completely turning that world on its head, and leaving fans with so many unanswered questions. With the zombie secret out in the open, we’re expecting huge developments for the upcoming season, which premieres on February 26th at 9/8c on The CW. We sat down with the cast to get all the juicy details at San Diego Comic-Con.

The New Seattle
“They’ve really hit reset. There’s a whole new world that we’re going into in season four. It’s three months after we left season four; now zombies are well known and Seattle’s walled-in. There aren’t enough brains for the zombies, so they’re tense and angry. The humans don’t trust the zombies and vice versa.” — Robert Buckley

“It really affects all of our characters because we’re living in a completely different society. The secret is fully out. It’s very much zombies versus humans and there are going to be some humans who sympathize with the zombie movement, but, for the most part, I think they’ll be against it because they’re afraid of being eaten.” — Aly Michalka

“Every detective will now have to work with a zombie.” — Malcolm Goodwin

Where is Liv in Season Four?
“There have been talks about Liv being a iconic underdog, being a bit rebellious, and not playing it the way the public does—sort of being an every man’s hero.”— Rose McIver

“We’re going to see Liv reunited with her family. That was really important to me as well. Liv is so compassionate and caring, and I didn’t buy that she would just tear herself from other people’s lives.”—Rose McIver

Brains, Brains, and More Brains
“I’m so excited for the hockey goon one. There is a rom-com obsessed lady and a die-hard Seattle Seahawks’ fan.” — Diane Ruggiero-Wright

Peyton Caught in the Middle
“My character will be in the middle of it, taking on cases that are zombie versus human crimes. It’s really going to weigh on her because she can sympathize with both sides. She’s going to need to choose a side and I hope she continues to defend her friends.” — Aly Michalka

Are Ravi and Peyton #EndGame?
“It’s the pairing that the fans want. This dynamic will exist in some form this season.” — Rahul Kohli

Season four of iZombie premieres on February 26 at 9/8c on The CW.
