SDCC 2026: Adam McArthur Brings His Annual Boba Event Back to San Diego Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con may be known for its packed convention floor, major studio presentations, and nonstop schedule, but some of its most memorable experiences take place away from the crowds. Now in its eighth year, Adam McArthur’s annual Super Awesome Boba Meetup has become one of the weekend’s most consistent and refreshing traditions, giving fans a welcome opportunity to recharge, enjoy some boba, and meet several of their favorite stars in a relaxed setting.

Hosted at SD Boba Tea on Saturday, July 25, the 2026 gathering brought McArthur together with fellow voice actors Zeno Robinson and Stephanie Kerbis. McArthur is known for bringing characters like Marco Diaz in Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen, Reno Ichikawa in Kaiju No. 8, and Hunter in Homesick to life. Robinson’s expansive body of work includes Hawks in My Hero Academia and Remy in Big City Greens, while Kerbis has lent her voice to popular franchises including Destiny 2, Deadlock, Fortnite, and Pokémon.

What began as a fan meetup has grown into an annual Comic-Con tradition rooted in accessibility and community. While panels and convention-floor appearances often move quickly, the Super Awesome Boba Meetup creates a more personal environment where fans can spend time with the actors behind the characters they love. Previous years have welcomed familiar names from the voice-acting community, including Eric Bauza, Ratana, and Zach Aguilar, but the heart of the event has remained the same: bringing people together over their shared love of animation, gaming, anime, and boba.

That consistency is part of what makes the meetup so special. San Diego Comic-Con continues to grow and change each year, but McArthur has maintained an experience that feels personal, welcoming, and centered on the fans. Eight years in, the Super Awesome Boba Meetup is no longer simply an event held alongside Comic-Con. It has become a tradition that attendees look forward to returning to each summer.

This year’s gathering offered another reminder of why the Super Awesome Boba Meetup has become such a beloved part of San Diego Comic-Con. From the familiar faces who return each year to the new fans experiencing it for the first time, the event continues to bring the voice-acting and fan communities together in a fun and welcoming setting.
