Exclusive Interview: Pop Culturalist Chats with MAX

From modeling and acting to singing and dancing, MAX was born to perform. He’s mesmerizing to watch and his latest single, “Love Me Less” by MAX (feat. Quinn XCII), is one of those incredibly catchy songs that you want to put on repeat.

We caught up with MAX and Quinn XCII at the US Open Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day before they performed. See what they had to say:

PC: You’ve been really thoughtful in your career and in knowing when to say no to projects. What’s been the biggest lesson you’ve learned in the industry?
MAX: The biggest lesson I’ve learned is definitely—I have to keep re-learning it—to not think that things change just because success comes. It’s always the same: fight for what you believe in, don’t feel weird about saying “no” because it’s ok to say no if you don’t believe in it, and love what you do because that will make you the happiest.

PC: What has been the biggest influence for you?
MAX: Honestly it’s been my wife. She’s given me the strength and confidence to do it.

Quinn XCII: Yeah, I just got married as well. It’s the truth. To be strong when things get crazy. That’s very important.

PC: What are you most excited about for today’s performance?
MAX: First time on a tennis court performing; I love that! Cross that off the bucket list.

Quinn XCII: Potentially gonna hit some tennis balls into the crowd so I hope I get to show off my technique. [laughs] It’s a very odd thing for us to do—I don’t think we ever thought our song would take us to the US Open, but we’re embracing it and soaking it in.

MAX: Yeah, that’s what I’m saying, baby! Let’s go!
