Book Review : The Jasmine Project by Meredith Ireland

The Jasmine Project by Meredith Ireland is a romantic comedy. It’s best described as My Big Fat Greek Wedding meets The Bachelorette.

Trigger Warning: toxic relationship.

When her boyfriend dumps her, her large, overprotective family seizes the opportunity to set her up with someone who they think will respect her. They turn her graduation ceremony into one big contest to find the right guy for her. To add to the drama, her ex wants her back and is willing to do what it takes to prove it. But when things spiral out of control, Jasmine’s the only one who gets to decide who she’ll end up with if she’s willing to take a chance on love. The plot will sweep you off your feet and you’ll want to stay up all night reading it.

Highlights

  • Jasmine’s got her heart set on being a nurse.
  • Jasmine’s awkward, but she’s still able to connect with all of the guys that she meets along the way, which is something I really loved about her character.
  • She comes from a big, mix blended family.
  • Jasmine’s sister Carl started a project called The Jasmine Project where she records what happens on air as a way to help Jasmine get over her ex Paul.
  • Self-worth and self-esteem are topics that this book touches on!

Lowlights

  • It has a slow start.

Final Thoughts: This book made me laugh out loud at some of the shenanigans that went on with her massive family attempting to set her up. Jasmine’s a nurse and she discovers that her long-time boyfriend cheated on her. In order to help her get over it, her relatives decide to take matters into their own hands. As expected, nothing goes to plan. This is the perfect book to read for anyone who liked the book 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston!
