Book Review: Love at First Spite by Anna E. Collins

Love at First Spite

Love at First Spite by Anna E. Collins is perfect for anyone who loves the grumpy/sunshine trope.

When Dani Porter’s fiancé cheats on her, she builds a rental property on the lot next to her ex. She dubs it the Spite House. Things get complicated when Dani has to enlist the help of a young man named Wyatt. He’s the kind of guy who eats a sandwich with a knife and a fork. The closer she gets to achieving her goal, the more she wonders if getting her revenge on her ex will cause her to lose something even more precious.

Highlights

  • The paintball scene! This part was one of my favorite scenes in this book.
  • Slow-burn romance with the grumpy/sunshine trope!
  • Witty banter.
  • The chemistry between Dani and the love interest in this book was swoon-worthy.

Lowlights

  • Dani was not my favorite person to read about. She’s too focused on getting revenge.  I loved reading about Wyatt and his personality was such a nice contrast to Dani’s!

Final Thoughts: Overall, this is a cute workplace grumpy meets sunshine book! It’s fast-paced and can be finished in one sitting. It’s the perfect book to read during a reading slump. This is a lighthearted story with a beautiful romance!
