Pop Culturalist Chats with Sabryna

Meet Sabryna, an emerging pop artist, who’s making major moves in 2017. She’s been hard at work in the studio crafting her debut EP, and, recently, dropped her infectious summer hit, “Try It”. If you haven’t heard it, what are you waiting for? Pop-Cultluralist had the honor of chatting with this up-and-coming talent about the single, her new EP, and how she’s using social media to interact with her fans.

PC: Tell us about your new single, “Try It”. What was the inspiration behind the song?
Sabryna: The song is a super fun summer anthem about seizing an opportunity and not letting a moment pass you by! It’s a feel-good song.

PC: Who did you grow up listening to? Did they have an impact on your career or influence your sound?
Sabryna: I grew up listening to the R&B greats…Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Luther Van Dross, which is probably why I can sing my ass off now [laughs].

PC: Social media and digital streaming services have created a new medium for artists to get their music out in the world. We’re curious what your experience has been with these platforms?
Sabryna: Social Media has been an amazing way for me to connect with my fans and make new ones. I even gave out my cell phone number on social media to gain a more personal connection to my fans. Text me guys: 310-929-6877!

PC: Now that the single is out, we have to ask, when can fans expect an EP or full-length recording?
Sabryna: SOON! In a few months, I’ll be putting out an EP—so stay tuned!

PC: Do you have any plans to hit the road and tour the country this year?
Sabryna: Absolutely.

PC: What’s the biggest life lesson you’ve learned being in the industry?
Sabryna: It’s ok to say NO. Trust your gut instinct above anything else.

PC: Who is an artist that you’d love to collaborate with in the future?
Sabryna: There are so many! Diplo, Justin Bieber, and Charlie Puth to name a few.

PC: What’s a surprising fact that fans may not know about you?
Sabryna: I can speak in almost every accent.
