To See or Not to See: Aftermath

It’s the end of the world as we know it. At least, it is on SYFY’s new series, Aftermath. It’s The Walking Dead meets Game of Thrones. And, loads of campy fun. This well-paced sci-fi thriller shines with its young cast. And, may soon become your newest guilty pleasure.

At the center of the story is the Copeland family—Joshua, Karen, and their three kids: Matt, Brianna, and Dana. They must come together as everything around them begins to fall apart. They’ll face terrifying creatures, natural disasters, the plague, and unforeseen challenges. Things go from bad to worse when one of their own is captured by a skinwalker. What the heck is a skinwalker, you ask? It’s a kind of demon that takes possession of a human body to satisfy its hunger. Yikes! The Copeland family will fight for survival and hope to be reunited.

Aftermath stars James Tupper, Anne Heche, Levi Meaden, Taylor Hickson, and Julia Sarah Stone. Also, rounding out the cast are Mitchell Kummen and Madison Smith.

While the show may not bring anything new to the genre, its young cast of actors make Aftermath an enthralling adventure. They make audiences fall in love with their characters and it’s hard not to root for them. There’s an emotional urgency that each actor creates. Levi Meaden, Taylor Hickson, Julia Sarah Stone, Mitchell Kummen, and Madison Smith are actors on the rise. And, undoubtedly ones to watch.

New episodes air on Tuesdays on SYFY at 10/9c.
