Singer-Songwriter Devin Kennedy Curates Your Summer Playlist
Rising singer-songwriter and producer Devin Kennedy knows a thing or two about making a hit song. From gems like “Something Bout That Feeling” to “Sundress”, Devin’s music has connected with listeners around the globe, making him one to watch.
His latest single, “Silence“, combines his sunny west coast vibes with faster vocal melodies and hard-hitting drums; the perfect way to roll in the summer.
Speaking of the summer, Devin’s taken time out of his day to share five songs you need to listen to as the weather warms up.
“Last Train Home” by John Mayer
It’s been a little while since he’s dropped new music and he’s back for the summer with some ’80s vibes. I don’t know if there’s much more to say beyond that. John Mayer is back! So that’s number one for me. I’ll be jamming to that all summer.
“Mariposa” by Peach Tree Rascals
This song came up on a Spotify playlist that I was listening to, and I just really loved the vibes. Almost like a modern-day Beatles-type feel. It has really cool chords, but it incorporates very contemporary melodies and lyrics. So, a big fan of that.
“Kiss Me More” by Doja Cat and SZA
This song grew on me. I heard it on TikTok and it kept popping up on playlists. I would hear it in public. It’s such a feel-good, beachy summer song. It’s really infectious. I’ve been thinking about it a lot actually. I’m a big fan.
“A-O-K” by Tai Verdes
Tai Verdes is a great artist that popped up on TikTok. I’ve been listening to him a lot. I have some friends who worked on his album. All the songs are really good. This song specifically is super summery, super catchy, super fun, and I’m into it. It’s really well done and very infectious.
“Falling for You” by Jaden with Justin Bieber
This is another song that has a Beatles feel. It’s very sixties, very retro, almost low-fi, so I’m a big fan of this one. Anything Justin Bieber touches turns to gold. I’m a big fan of this collab.
