Good job little liars! They’re back and they can’t be stopped. Already bringing the people they care for down. But so is Uber A.
There are so many things to talk about in this episode. Where do I begin?!
Mrs. Marin is now being questioned by the police for the missing footage the night that Charlotte was murdered. Lucas is back in town and he’s not the geeky boy he was five years ago. He’s successful and confident, has money and owns multiple properties. When Mrs. Marin confronts Hannah about the tape, Hanna yells “What would I have to tamper with? I’m not in high school anymore!” Unbeknownst to her mom, Hanna asks Lucas to be her alibi the first chance she gets. He lies for her at the station stating that he was with Hanna the night that Charlotte was killed. Even after five years, Lucas remains a loyal friend to Hanna, and takes off, leaving her with keys to his apartment and a place to escape the chaos of being back Rosewood. Lorenzo, like every other cop in Rosewood, believes the liars are guilty and are hiding something.
Hey Em! You have secrets, and Sara Harvey’s watching. This whole time, I wasn’t sure what happened to Sara’s hand. I was convinced I missed something in the mid season finale, but Sara’s injury was finally revealed right before Spencer hooked up with Caleb. But let’s save that for later. After Emily punched Sara for betraying her and working with A, Sara ended up electrocuting herself while trying to get up. The liars left her there because they had other things to worry about. Speaking of secrets, Emily’s mom finally finds out that she dropped out of school and has been lying ever since. Don’t worry Emily, you have your mom’s forgiveness.
It seems like Hanna is at the center of discovering everyone’s truths lately. She is really becoming my favorite character this season. She finds out that Spencer has feelings for Caleb, and she tells her to pursue her feelings, because she’s an engaged woman now. Hanna sees Emily injecting herself and confronts Emily. Emily tells her that she has to inject herself with hormones in order to donate eggs. At first, she was doing it for the money because she’s broke and was depressed ever since her Dad died. But she realizes that this is a decision she’s happy with and will make someone out there very happy. We’re so proud of you Em! Good for you! It’s nice to see her character gain back that strength and confidence she always had as a swimmer. Hanna even offered money to Emily. She’s such a great friend and her character has really grown. Remember the days when Hanna shoplifted and listened to A to earn money? Those days are over. I’m excited to see what else the writers have in store for her. While Hanna seems to know everyone’s secrets, she is still trying to hide hers. In Rosewood, someone will find out your secret eventually.
“When did that happen? Maybe you’re more comfortable lying than you think,” Melissa tells Spencer, referencing her feelings for Caleb. #Spaleb? #Saleb? Which hashtag do we choose? Spencer has remained a loyal friend to Hanna after many years of being apart. Even with her history of shopping from other people’s carts (all the boys), Spencer never gave into her feelings and neither did Caleb, until tonight. I was screaming the entire time. My heart is broken. Team #Spoby forever. Come back to us Toby! We’re not okay with this and we know you’re not okay with this Hanna!!!
The liars and their assumptions always end up causing more trouble. Melissa freaked out during an interview thinking that someone watched her tape from her hidden past. Spencer quickly assumes that the deleted footage was seen and everyone confronts Ezra. This may have been the most intense scene I have ever watched Ezra and the little liars in. #AngryEzra is not the same Ezra that Aria said bye to that summer. We agree. He makes it clear that he feels no remorse for the death of Charlotte, but did he do it? There’s got to be more to the story just like there is more to #Ezria. I’m not sure if I’m feeling Aria’s current boyfriend Liam. We all know long distance relationships don’t work.
“You know who did it and I’m going to make you talk!” Uber A is back and the liars are finally aware that they have a lot to lose being back in Rosewood. But what is Uber A talking about? Does s/he think they killed Charlotte? Or is s/he referencing the tape? I keeping thinking the writers will give us a glimpse of the person behind all of this at the end of every episode. You know, change it up a bit. That’s just my wishful thinking.
