Pretty Little Liars “Charlotte’s Web” Recap + Review
When you think the Little Liars are growing up, think again.
Hanna seems to have matured in tonight’s episode and Aria is the one telling lies. When the girls see Sara Harvey, Hanna makes a comment about her suffering from “Swedish Syndrome”. Sorry Hanna, it’s actually known as Stockholm Syndrome. That made me laugh and it was good to see that the writers have kept some qualities that make her Hanna. Hanna was the only liar to notice Aria missing from the hotel room the night of Charlotte’s murder. When confronted by Hanna, Aria lies, so the little liars take matters into their own hands. They sneak into the surveillance room to find proof of Aria meeting up with Ezra at the hotel that night. “We’re not in high school anymore,” Hanna tells the liars. She does the mature thing and confronts Aria rather than deleting the footage. We find that Aria and Ezra met up that night only to have seen Charlotte walking into the church where she was thrown from. Ezra seems angry and Aria is convinced that Ezra killed Charlotte. Desperate to help her friend, Hanna deletes proof of Aria leaving the hotel that night.
Old habits die hard. The liars still hasn’t learned that lying in Rosewood makes things worse. We’re still not sure what’s wrong with Emily when she was seen getting her blood drawn at the medical center. And Aria lying in the light of Charlotte’s death wasn’t the smartest thing to do, since being scared of A is a good motive to kill someone. All the girls are back to their paranoid selves and nothing has changed, except for their love lives.
We finally met Hanna’s fiancé Jordan and Aria’s boyfriend Liam, who is back in Boston. There are definitely feelings between Spencer and Caleb, but are they actually dating? I wouldn’t be surprised considering Spencer’s past relationships. However, I am still rooting for team #Haleb, #Spoby and #Ezria. As for Emily, team #Emison? Emily has it rough and I don’t see a happy ending for her.
