Pop Culturalist Chats with Jenn McAllister

Jenn McAllister is more than just a really professional internet person. She’s also a bestselling author and one of the funniest actresses in Hollywood. This fresh face is killing it and her comic timing is PERFECTION. And, every Wednesday, she can be seen on the hit YouTube Red show, Foursome—where she plays the lead character, Andie. Pop Culturalist was lucky enough to chat with Jenn about the show, her character, and what fans can expect.

Foursome Questions

PC: How did you get involved with the show?
Jenn: I took the audition, got a couple callbacks, and got the part!

PC: The friendships on the show feel very organic. How did you guys build that chemistry?
Jenn: I think we just got super lucky with such a great cast! We all immediately connected from day one and became really close with one another, so building that chemistry was pretty easy.

PC: Season two picks up a few weeks after season one, what can fans expect?
Jenn: Season two picks up in the beginning of a new semester and the beginning of a new and improved Andie. She’s sick of being bossed around by her older brother and is over her season one crush Josh, so she starts the season off with some newfound confidence. Throughout season two fans can expect to see this new confidence, new drama, and even a new student!

PC: The show has a bunch of great one-liners. Do you have a favorite?
Jenn: My favorite line from this season is Dakota’s line “deep and dark.” I’m not sure if it even made the episode but it became kind of an inside joke within the cast and I actually say it in my everyday life now.

PC: What’s been your favorite on- or off-set moment?
Jenn: My favorite on-set moment is literally anytime Rickey messes up a line. Once it happens once, it happens a few times in a row afterward and it’s so funny and adorable.

PC: What’s was your favorite scene to film this season?
Jenn: Since I don’t want to give anything away by explaining a scene, I’ll just go ahead and say episode 4 was my favorite episode to film.

PC: At the end of season one, Josh chooses Alec, Jandie fans want to know what’s going on with them in season two?
Jenn: You’ll have to watch to find out! BUT I PROMISE IT’S JUICY AND DRAMATIC!

PC: Describe each of your cast mates in one word:
Jenn:

PC: What’s been the biggest lesson you’ve learned filming Foursome?
Jenn: Probably the most important thing I’ve learned from filming Foursome is that I absolutely love acting and want to keep doing it!

PC: Who would be in your foursome?
Jenn: My best friends here in L.A., Lauren Elizabeth and Alyx Weiss, and my best friend from back in PA, Jordyn Tannenbaum!

PC: Where do you hope Andie’s story goes if it’s picked up for a third season?
Jenn: Season two honestly ends with such a cliffhanger that I have NO IDEA where Andie’s story could go—so many options.

PC: Guilty pleasure TV show?
Jenn: The Bachelor/Bachelorette

PC: Guilty pleasure movie?
Jenn: Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. My absolute favorite movie and I’ve seen it way too many times.

PC: Favorite play or musical?
Jenn: I’ve actually never really been into theatre—so I haven’t seen many productions to even pick a favorite.

PC: Favorite book?
Jenn: Any female comedian’s memoir.

PC: Favorite social media platform?
Jenn: Twitter

PC: Hidden talent?
Jenn: I can wiggle my ears? Not much of a talent.
