Pitch Perfect 3: What We Want To See

In the summer of 2015, it was announced that the third installment of Pitch Perfect was on its way and screenwriter Kay Cannon would return to pen the script. Shortly after, cast members of the first two films Brittany Snow and Rebel Wilson confirmed they’d be returning. Fans of the cult classic were excited to see what their favorite a cappella beauties were up to after graduation. Although no plot or storyline has been announced yet, filming began earlier this month and much of the cast of the first two films attended the first table read. Elizabeth Banks will not be returning to direct but will reprise her role as Gail.

Although Skylar Astin revealed that he and the Treblemakers would not be making an appearance in the third film, fans still can’t contain their excitement. Fans shouldn’t be too surprised about the lack of the roomies that stole our hearts in the first Pitch Perfect; Ben Platt is hard at work starring in Broadway’s newest hit Dear Evan Hansen and Astin stars as Isaiah Miller is Epix’s Graves which was renewed for a second season.

Here’s what we hope to see in Pitch Perfect 3:

More Fat Amy greatness. 

When the third film was announced, Rebel Wilson joked that it would be a Fat Amy spin-off. Uh…yes please!  With a stellar comedic delivery and impressive voice, Wilson quickly became fans’ favorite. She may have professed her love for Bumper in the last film but we can’t see Amy settling down just yet. We want to see more of Amy’s antics with the group.

Chloe discovers herself.

Chloe had post-graduation jitters that caused tension between the Bellas in Pitch Perfect 2. We would love to see Chloe established in a career or at least comfortable enough with herself to have a set plan after graduation. Whatever she decides to do, we want her to be confident with her decision and succeeding.

Beca is killing the game as a producer.

The last time we saw Beca, she was an intern at recording studio Residual Heat. Her boss (Keegan-Michael Key) enjoyed her work so was she hired full-time or has she found a new place to pursue her producing dreams? We’re all rooting for you, Beca!

Emily is leading the Barden Bellas to greatness.

Hailee Steinfeld may be young, but she’s made quite a name for herself over the years. She was just nominated for a Golden Globe award for her performance in The Edge of Seventeen and her collaboration with Zedd is a radio hit. We were first introduced to Emily Junk in the last movie and couldn’t get enough of her endearing romance with Treblemaker Benji and her quirky personality. The Barden Bellas may be an a acappella group but that doesn’t mean they can’t sing Emily’s original songs. We loved “Flashlight” and can only hope there’s more where that came from.

People will finally be able to tell the difference between Jessica and Ashley.

This one is a long shot but one can dream, right? We’re not even sure Ashley (Shelley Regner) and Jessica (Kelley Jackle) can tell themselves apart as suggested by the awkward yet adorable moment at the campfire in the last film.

Pitch Perfect 3 is scheduled to be released on December 22nd, 2017. How many gal pals are you taking to the theater with you?
