Created by Baz Luhrmann and Stephen Adly Guirgis, The Get Down is Netflix’s newest binge-worthy series. Luhrmann has been developing this musical series for the past ten years, and, boy, has it paid off. The Get Down is a story about the birth of hip-hop in 1970s New York City. It centers around Ezekiel (Justice Smith), a teenage orphan in the Bronx. He’s in love with his friend, Mylene Cruz (Herizen F. Guardiola) who is a pastor’s daughter and dreams of becoming a Disco singer. He is also a budding poet.
Georgina Pazcoguin is no stranger to the stage. She has been a ballet dancer with the New York City Ballet since 2003. In 2013, she was promoted to a soloist. In 2015, she made her Broadway debut in On The Town. As Victoria the White Cat in Broadway’s revival of Cats, Georgina slinks, spins, and twirls her way across the stage.
