Ones to Watch: Tor Miller

If you haven’t heard the name Tor Miller yet, you will. The Brooklyn native is one of music’s hottest new stars. He has a distinct sound with his unique brand of piano centric pop. And, it’s exactly what’s missing in today’s music. It’s quickly been recognized by The Huffington Post, Nylon, and Baeble. But, what’s even more impressive? His debut album hasn’t been released yet.

Tor’s passion for music started at a young age. He paid his dues playing at piano bars around the Lower East Side. And, later enrolled in the Clive Davis School of Recorded Music at N.Y.U. There, he honed his sound and songwriting talents.

Since then, he’s toured with distinguished artists including James Bay, George Ezra, and Aurora. The lyrical wordsmith, with his cool throwback vibe, is able to connect with any audience. And, that’s evident by his captivating stage presence.

For the past eighteen months, he’s been perfecting his debut album, American English. And, trust me, it’s been worth the wait. It’s poised to be one of the best records you’ll hear all year. And, we’re thankful to Spotify for introducing us to this wildly talented singer-songwriter. Here’s the track that set Tor on the map:

And, if you’re dying to see him live (I know I am), Tor will be hitting the road in support of the album. Tour dates can be found on his official site.

American English will be released on September 30th. Pick up your copy on Amazon or iTunes. Seriously, do it. If you pre-order today, you’ll get “Surrender” instantly. Watch the powerful video for the track below! And, try not to fall in love with his falsetto.

To keep up with Tor, follow him on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
