The Gifted Renewed for Season Two

It’s an eXciting day for The Gifted fans. On Thursday, Fox announced at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour that the hit new series will return for a second season. Huge congrats to the cast and crew for the well-deserved (and early) renewal. The news comes ahead of the two-hour season one finale, which airs on Monday, January 15th.

Based on Marvel’s X-Men comics, The Gifted follows two parents, Reed and Caitlin Strucker (Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker), who take their family on the run after discovering their children (Natalie Alyn Lind, Percy Hynes White) have mutant abilities. They soon find themselves aligned with the mutant underground—an organization that Reed formerly hunted.

Since its premiere, the series has developed a solid viewership, becoming the third-ranked new drama of the fall season. It averaged over 8.3 million total viewers across various platforms and also stars Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Sean Teale, Skyler Samuels, Hayley Lovitt, and Blair Redford.
