Hitmaker is the most fitting way to describe Cimo Fränkel. The multi-platinum songwriter, producer, and singer has collaborated on songs that have amassed close to a billion streams worldwide. Yes, a billion streams worldwide! You’ve heard his work on songs like Cheat Codes and Kris Kross Amsterdam’s “Sex,” Yellow Claw’s iconic smash “Shotgun,” and Hardwell and Snoop Dogg’s “How You Love Me.”
This year, Cimo has taken center stage with his first solo project, titled Stay the Night. The six-song collection is a must for any music connoisseur. Today, Cimo continues that momentum with the music video for his new single, “All Comes Down,” premiering exclusively on Pop Culturalist. We caught up with this music icon to chat about this next phase in his already impressive career.
PC: How did you discover your passion for music?
Cimo: My father was a musician so I was always around music. It felt normal, like a part of life. I didn’t realize it was actually my passion until I was fourteen. I haven’t been able to stop creating since then.
PC: Who or what has had the biggest influence on your career?
Cimo: My family always told me to do what I feel, and growing up around other musicians really inspired me a lot.
PC: Tell us about your new single, “All Comes Down.” What inspired the track?
Cimo: Funny story. I was watching Game of Thrones at the time and I was really inspired by their slang. The words from the track are inspired by Game of Thrones.
PC: What was it like collaborating with Armin Van Buuren?
Cimo: Amazing. This is our second single together. We toured and had a lot of fun both during and between shows.
PC: What does the rest of the year hold for you as we look ahead to the end of 2019 into 2020?
Cimo: I have a show coming up at the Sayers Club in L.A. on November 14.
