Exclusive Interview: Pop Culturalist Chats with Kacey Fifield
Kacey Fifield is an up-and-coming performer who’s making a name for herself in the world of acting and music. Her credits include Clique Wars, Snapped, and Diane, Jerry, and Friends. When she isn’t crushing it on the screen, she’s dropping empowering anthems including her latest, “Bring Me Down”, which reminds listeners to never let others dim their light. Kacey recently stopped by to chat about her career and “Bring Me Down”.
PC: You’re an actress and musician. How did you discover your passion for each? Is there one that you naturally gravitate towards?
Kacey: For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved performing for my family! I’d do musicals and play all the roles. I’ve always loved both acting and singing, and I still do to this day!
PC: Who or what has had the biggest influence on your career?
Kacey: After watching Disney channel shows like iCarly, Jessie, and Big Time Rush, I discovered how much I truly wanted to be in the industry. Therefore, my acting career was definitely influenced by some of the Disney and Nickelodeon stars. When it comes to music, I loved how Victoria Justice did both [acting and music], so I wanted to follow her path and try a career in music, too. I met my music producer, Ricardo Padua, when I was ten-years-old and recorded my first single, “When I Grow Up”. We have worked together ever since, and now I have over ten original singles out in stores!
PC: Tell us about your new single, “Bring Me Down”. What inspired the track?
Kacey: I am all about spreading kindness and positivity! There is just too much hate in the world right now. “Bring Me Down” is about not letting the haters stop you. It’s about staying positive and not letting negativity get to you. I believe that everyone should believe in themselves and not let anyone bring them down or stop them from accomplishing their dreams. That message inspired the song. The track itself is pretty upbeat and great to dance to!
PC: Of all the songs you have written, if you had to choose one that best encompasses you as an artist, which would it be and why?
Kacey: Right now, I think that would be my new song “Bring Me Down”! Each of my songs show a part of me, but this song shows how I’m feeling right now. Keeping positive and perseverance are the keys to success.
PC: What does the rest of the year hold for you as we look ahead in 2019?
Kacey: New songs, music videos, YouTube videos, and maybe even a few acting projects!

PC: Favorite book?
Kacey: I’ve loved the Warriors series for quite some time now! It’s a very interesting series, but I may be a bit biased since I love cats.
PC: Favorite play or musical?
Kacey: I’m absolutely obsessed with Hamilton! I went to see it three times! I love all the songs and the amazing story. I’m currently working on a few covers from the musical.
PC: A band or artist that fans would be surprised to learn is on your playlist?
Kacey: I think that since I’m super energetic and cheerful, no one would expect me to be a fan of Billie Eilish because her songs are so dark, but she has a very unique voice and is super talented!

Kacey: My friend introduced me to a Netflix show called Awake: The Million Dollar Game and I’ve been binging it!
