Exclusive Interview: Pop Culturalist Chats with Danger Force’s Dana Heath

Actress Dana Heath is ready to protect the citizens of Swellview as superhero-in-training Mika in Nickelodeon’s Danger Force. The Henry Danger spinoff finds Captain Man (Cooper Barnes) preparing the next generation of superhero sidekicks as they learn to harness their uncontrollable powers to fight crime. Pop Culturalist spoke with Dana about Danger Force and how she feels continuing the Henry Danger legacy.

Career

PC: How did you discover your passion for acting?
Dana: I started doing theater when I was seven. I fell in love with the stage and I haven’t turned back since.

PC: Who or what has had the biggest influence on your career?
Dana: My biggest influences are Cree Summer and Mayim Bialik.

PC: How do you balance your career and life as a normal kid?
Dana: I make sure to do the things I love and talk to my friends even if I’m tired from all the work.

Danger Force

PC: Tell us about Danger Force, your character, and what drew you to this project.
Dana: Danger Force is about four kids trying to figure out their superpowers with the help of Captain Man and Schwoz. I play the character Mika who is smart, independent, a natural leader, and is always up for a challenge. What I like about this project is that there are a lot of funny moments and cool stunts that I get to participate in.

PC: What should fans know about Mika? What can you tease about Mika’s arc this season?
Dana: The fans should know that Mika is very dedicated. She’s determined to stop crimes and to protect the city of Swellview.

PC: What role does Mika play in the group?
Dana: She’s the smart one, at least that’s what her aunt says!

PC: The four superheroes-in-training have to learn to harness their power in the series. If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Dana: I would want to be invisible because I think it would be the most useful and fun.

PC: Do you have a favorite moment/scene that you can’t wait for fans to see?
Dana: Our first big fight scene is amazing!

PC: How does it feel to continue the Henry Danger legacy?
Dana: It is an honor and a privilege to continue the legacy of such an iconic show like Henry Danger.
