Exclusive Interview: Pop Culturalist Chats with Connor Finnerty

Connor Finnerty is a talent who can do it all. He acts, dances, sings, and writes—and he’s taking the industry by storm. This year he dropped a new single, “A Million Degrees”, and it’s about to be your new favorite song.

Pop Culturalist spoke with Connor about the single and the year ahead.

PC: Tell us about your new single, “A Million Degrees.” What inspired the song?
Connor: There wasn’t really an inspiration since I wrote it before I met my girlfriend, Siena Agudong, who’s an actress. I started dating Siena after we recorded the song but before we shot the video. We delayed shooting the video for several months because I wasn’t inspired to do it…that is until I met Siena. I knew that Siena would be perfect for the love interest role in the video because it was like this song was meant for her all along. It all worked out.

PC: What does the 2019 year hold for you?
Connor: Well, if all goes the way I want it to, I’ll release two or three more songs; I’ll book a TV show or movie; I’ll continue dancing to keep the skills fresh.

PC: You’re an actor, singer, and dancer. Is there one that you naturally gravitate towards? How did you discover your passion for each?
Connor: I was a dancer first. It went with my love for music and my passion for expressing myself. I would say that I gravitate to any kind of training because I want to keep growing, but acting is my priority. It’s what I see as my career.

PC: What’s been the biggest lesson you’ve learned being a part of the industry?
Connor: That’s an easy one! You haven’t officially booked a job until you’re on set and the director says, “Action.” Until then, nothing is guaranteed.

PC: What are some of the career aspirations you hope to accomplish?
Connor: Like everyone else, I hope to win an Oscar, a Grammy, and those types of awards. But, honestly, I want to have a long career in acting in either a successful TV show or big budget movie.
