Exclusive Interview: Beau Nair Talks About His Live Performance of “Dynamite Pousoir”

Country/comedy outlaw Beau Nair has captivated audiences with his unique sound and songwriting. Today, he’s releasing the live performance of his acclaimed single, “Dynamite Posuoir”. Pop Culturalist caught up with Beau to talk about his career, “Dynamite Pousoir”, and more!

PC: How did you discover your passion for music?
Beau: Since I was a kid, I have been drawn to music, especially through the piano. It was like a portal to my imagination where I could expand my creative mind and explore new and unknown realms of communication, understanding, and harmony. Keep in mind, this was years before my dalliance with psilocybin. As I traveled the highways of America with my Pappy, I would always gravitate towards the juke joints and honky tonks where music was being played. Coupled with the hi-fi listening I did in the brothel lounges while Paps got serviced, I gained an appreciation for music that pushed me to elevate my skills and dedicate myself further. All this led up to writing, recording, and releasing nine albums in nine months, a heroic feat I achieved on the sheer power of orgasmic self-belief. And a lot of cannabis, but you knew that.

PC: Who or what has had the biggest influence on your career?
Beau: Well, I’ve soaked up so many different musicians and songwriters that it’s hard to pinpoint who was the biggest influence. As to what, I chalk it up to my own tenacity and curiosity. I have extended myself so far beyond my original conception of myself that I have transformed like a butterfly erupts from a caterpillar or a Phoenix from the ashes. My own determination has been the single most influential thing on my trajectory, which is always aiming for the stars, man!

PC: You have an extensive catalog of work. If you had to pick one song that best encompasses who you are as an artist, which would it be and why?
Beau: That’s a hard one. Songs are like children so you don’t want to pick faves. That being said, a song like “On the Road” reflects on my life’s journey, which brought me here to California and beyond. It also shows a little of my piano skills on the boogie side, which is right in my wheelhouse. A song like “Highway in My Mind” represents my inner journey when I connected to the psychedelic realm and unleashed my funktry music to the world. Keep in mind that I was also revealing myself to myself, one song at a time. But really, the fans find their favorites, so a song like “Owner of a Lonely Boner” evidently represents me to the people out there. That being said, it is lonely no more!

CP: Tell us about “Dynamite Pousoir,” the inspiration behind the song, and what fans can expect from your live performance of it.
Beau: Well, to be honest, I wanted to change up using the word “pussy” for something a little classier, maybe a little more likely to sneak by the censors and still deliver the goods. Much like “guidis” or “choch”, the word “pousoir” is a made-up word as far as I know. It’s also a really fun way to reference a woman’s dynamite ladyparts when you’re feeling her funk and smelling her essence. This performance was just as a trio to get my feet wet but eventually, I’ll have a larger band with guitar and maybe some good-smellin’ chicks on backup vocals. And a horn section, plus strings, which I will orchestrate using my deep disco skills. The sky’s the limit man!

PC: As we look ahead to the rest of the year into 2024, what can fans expect from you?
Beau: My goal is to eventually tour and the groundswell of support I’m seeing recently is showing me that ain’t too far away. Having the right band is key but I can also play solo anytime, which is handy AF. On the video side, I have a sensational and quite scandalous video coming soon that asks the fabled question: How far is too far? And how much is too much? I’m a big proponent of freedom of speech so I want to make sure if the boundaries shift, they shift in the “more free” direction. You may see me doing stand-up or maybe I’ll be a renegade and sit down, who knows. The point is, some of what I have coming in 2024 is under wraps and super exciting, while you can be assured I’ll be making music, boogie boarding on some waves, and expanding my brain one fabulous doobie at a time.
