At the heart of this tale is Young Deck Officer Arthur Hawkins (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), who leaves his pregnant wife Maud (Nathalie Emmanuel) to join the San Demetrio. Despite the overwhelming odds, Maud remains a beacon of hope, holding on to faith that her husband will return safely. Their story adds a deeply emotional and poignant layer to this extraordinary World War II narrative.

Unsinkable is a gripping and remarkable story of heroism, resilience, and seamanship during World War II, inspired by the true events surrounding the cargo ship “San Demetrio.” When the ship is attacked by a German warship far from any shore, a young, inexperienced officer and a small crew of desperate men are forced to make impossible choices, with their very survival at stake.
