Broadway Stands Up for Freedom

For the past 14 years, the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) has hosted a night of great music featuring Broadway’s best.  This year’s benefit concert will be hosted by actress Susan Blackwell and will take place on Monday, July 18th.

The all-star lineup includes the following fan favorites:

Also in attendance will be singers/songwriters Clinton Curtis and Liana Stampur, award-winning director Liesl Tommy (Eclipsed), award-winning composer Benj Pasek (Dear Evan Hansen) and Brooklyn Technical High School’s step team The Lady Dragons.

Founded in 1951, the NYCLU is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization that aims to protect the fundamental rights of all New Yorkers. Through advocacy, public education and community organizing, the NYCLU fights for these rights such as freedom of speech and privacy. Funds raised from the benefit concert will support the organization’s mission.

The 14th Annual Broadway Stands Up for Freedom will be at New York University’s Skirball Center of the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Pl, New York, NY 10012) and will begin at 7:30 PM.
