Why You Can’t Miss the Last Howler Con
If you’re a Teen Wolf fan, I’m almost certain you’ve heard of Howler Con. It’s a fan-run convention that features all of our favorite stars from the hit MTV show. Two weeks ago, the convention wrapped up their third event. And, announced that next year will be their final hurrah (cue the tears), which will take place June 23-25, 2017. If you haven’t made your way to Elizabeth, New Jersey for Howler Con, this is your last chance! Here are five reasons why you HAVE to attend.
The Cast
Howler Con is known for their guest list. Each year, they continue to outdo themselves so we can only imagine what they have in store for 2017. Past attendees include Tyler Hoechlin, Shelley Hennig, Crystal Reed, Daniel Sharman, Holland Roden, Linden Ashby, Melissa Ponzio, JR Bourne, Ryan Kelley, Crystal Reed, Arden Cho, Ian Bohen, Orny Adams, Charlie Carver, Eaddy Mays, Sinqua Walls, and Haley Webb.
The Panels
The panels are an absolute hoot! Fans are given the opportunity to ask their favorite stars those burning questions they’ve always wanted answered. And, trust me, some of the responses are, ahem, not PG—especially if the panel includes Ian Bohen, JR Bourne, and/or Daniel Sharman.
The Vendors
If you’re a fan of art, there’s no better place than Howler Con. When you’re not attending a photo op, meet and greet, or autograph session, there’s plenty to do at the Vendors’ area. And, let me just say the talent there is MIND-BLOWING. Make sure to bring plenty of cash because you’ll want to buy everything.
The Charity Auction
Each year, the convention chooses a charity that they donate all proceeds from the fan/guests of honor auctions to. In three short years, they’ve raised over $20,000. It’s one of the best parts of the entire weekend.
The Staff
I’ve been to a lot of conventions and the Howler Con staff goes above and beyond. They make the weekend a lot of fun and are always around to help. Even though they’re barely getting any sleep, they always have a smile on their face.
The Attendees
The attendees that travel around the world to come to Howler Con are some of the most supportive people you’ll ever meet. It’s truly a sense of community with no judgement which is rare these days.
P.S. I know that was six reasons but I could truly go on and on.
If you’re like me, you’re counting the days until they announce when tickets go on sale. Make sure to follow them on Twitter for all the latest.
