10 Favorite Michael Cordero Moments on Jane the Virgin

*SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER* If you have not watched Jane the Virgin this week, do not read this article yet. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Well, folks. The inevitable happened on Jane the Virgin: Michael Cordero is dead. I ignored the icky foreshadowing (that line haunted me since the beginning, “Michael would love Jane until his dying breath”). I desperately hoped it wasn’t going to happen… at least for quite some time. I’m not ashamed to say that I yelled and cried at my television watching the episode.

Michael (Brett Dier) was one of the sweetest and most supportive male character on television, and the love that he and Jane (Gina Rodriguez) shared was, simply, magic. He loved Jane through every possible situation: having another man’s baby, her falling in love with another man, kidnappings, family drama, shootings, and a coma. Michael’s shoes will be very hard to fill both on the show and in Jane’s life. I was and always will be #TeamMichael.

That said, here are 10 of my favorite Michael moments from Jane the Virgin:

When Michael first meets Jane. The magic snow moment of true love! It happens when they first meet AND when they reunite later.

The bromance. Michael befriends Rogelio (Jaime Camil) which results in some hilarious encounters and shared experiences (like Michael’s bachelor party).

Dealing with Jane’s other love interests. Even when Rafael (Justin Baldoni) and Jane were getting serious, Michael never stopped loving her. He even gave advice to Rafael about how he could fit into Jane’s family (when Jane’s family so obviously preferred Michael).

Michael stays up to help Jane with her novel. He was insanely supportive of whatever Jane wanted to do, and he always believed in her.

Michael saves Alba (Ivonne Coll) from deportation. Even though Michael and Jane were not a couple when Alba was threatened with deportation, Michael called in a favor to save her. He made Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) promise not to tell Jane what he had done since he did it. What a decently good man.

Michael cracks the case to discover Sin Rostro is Rose (Bridget Regan). He was a good cop. He was smart and dedicated to this case. When he finally figured it out, it felt so satisfying.

Michael and Mateo. I mean, the way he didn’t hesitate to love Mateo makes my heart go warm and fuzzy.

Michael discussing what he wants from marriage and life with Jane before their wedding. They agree, and, when they don’t, they hash it out. Their relationship was basically a wonderful portrait of a strong, healthy one.

Michael says his wedding vows in Spanish. Hands down, my favorite scene of the whole series. Michael didn’t know Spanish despite being with Jane for so long. As a wedding surprise, he learned his vows in Spanish and recited them in Spanish. Tears, tears, and more tears.

Michael’s face when there is a possibility Jane might be pregnant with their child. I mean, everyone deserves such love and excitement from their partner. (Ok, I don’t have a gif of that exact moment, but he was as excited in as he was dancing at his wedding!)

Like I said earlier…#TeamMichaelForever. What were your favorite Michael moments? Let us know!
