Woman Crush Wednesday: Chrissy Metz

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past two months, you’ve heard of Chrissy Metz. She’s one of Fall’s breakout stars. If you haven’t seen her performance in This is Us, what are you waiting for? It’s INCREDIBLE. She’ll make you laugh and cry (keep those Kleenex handy)—all within the same episode. Her role is shattering stereotypes and it’s easy to see why millions of viewers (us included) have fallen in love with her. Here are a few more reasons why she’s our Woman Crush Wednesday:

Her Hustle
Chrissy is the poster child for perseverance. Her career has been anything BUT an overnight success. That’s not to say she isn’t talented because we all know she is. There just weren’t many roles for her to audition for. But, she kept hustlin’ and bustlin’ (for well over a decade). And, we’re glad she’s getting the recognition she deserves. She recently appeared on The View where she talked about just that:

She’s Breaking Down Barriers
Chrissy and her character are redefining Hollywood norms. One of the reasons why Chrissy was attracted to the role was because her character was not a stereotype or punchline. And, represented inclusion and diversity for plus-size women on television. Chrissy strongly believes society shouldn’t define themselves by a number (whether that be a salary or numbers on a scale). She talked about the positive message on The Real:

She Acts and SINGS!
In Episode 3 of This is Us, her character takes center stage. Well, kind of. Her boyfriend encourages her to see herself the way he does and arranges for her to sing in front of a senior citizen home (aw). Our jaws hit the ground after hearing just a few notes. Chrissy is a terrific singer and needs to get signed by a label immediately.

She Loves her Fans
If you follow Chrissy on Twitter (and you should), you know she loves interacting with her fans! She’s always chatting with fans on the social media platform and we can’t get enough of it. You go, Chrissy!

And, Finally, She’s Confident and Gorgeous
Chrissy is a bombshell. She’s beautiful inside and out. We’re in awe of her and everything she does.

Make sure to follow Chrissy on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. And, watch This is Us every Tuesday at 9/8C on NBC.
