#TBT: 5 Best Graduation Songs

With every graduation, there are a few songs that go along with it. On this #TBT, we take a look at some of our all-time favorite graduation songs that can transport us immediately back to that moment when we were saying goodbye to formative times in our lives!

Everybody’s Free to Wear Sunscreen, Baz Luhrman

A phenom when it was released, this song full of life lessons quickly made it’s way onto everyone’s mix CDs (yes, mix CDs).

Graduation, Vitamin C

This song captured everything you felt about graduation in such a catchy pop, dripping-with-nostalgia song.

Friends Forever, Saved by the Bell

OK, so technically I don’t think anyone played this at their graduations, but graduation is also about sticking with your friends even as you grow up.

I’ll Be There for You, The Rembrandts

Again, sticking by your friends is a big part of graduation. You face so many life changes that having a great system of friends to support you is essential.

Good Riddance (Time of My Life), Green Day

This is THE song that is still played around graduations. Listening to it now, I still get sad and happy all at once (basically your state of being around graduation time).

Taraneh

Taraneh has been happily living in NYC for over a decade, but originally hails from the Midwest. Enamored with books at a young age, she grew up making stories, playing make believe, and loving the musical and performing arts. She is great at binge-watching TV shows. Some current favorites: Schitt's Creek, A Court of Mist & Fury, Prince Harry, and The Magicians.
