‘Siren’ Renewed for Season Two at Freeform

Around this time every year, the major networks host their annual Upfronts. It’s where they present their upcoming slate of programming to major advertisers. And for everyone else, it’s when we learn what new shows are heading our way, what’s been renewed, and what’s been canceled.

Freeform will host their event later this afternoon but we’ve learned that they’ve already renewed Siren for a second season! Huge congrats to the cast and crew on being picked up for an additional sixteen episodes, which is six more episodes than they had in season one!

Siren is an epic tale about the coastal town of Bristol Cove, known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. The arrival of a mysterious girl, Ryn (Eline Powell), wreaks havoc on the small fishing town as she proves the folklore true. Using their resources, marine biologist Ben (Alex Roe) and Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola) must work together to find out who and what drove this primal hunter of the deep sea to land and if there are more like her. Xander (Ian Verdun) is a deep-sea fisherman looking to uncover the truth and Helen (Rena Owen), the town eccentric, knows more than she lets on.
