Pop Culturalist Chats with Kayla Brianna

As a young girl, Kayla Brianna could be seen singing and dancing to Destiny’s Child all over her house. It was in those moments that she realized she wanted to pursue a career in music. Fast forward years later, not only is Kayla living her dream, but she has become one of Hollywood’s most exciting new triple threats, expanding her empire to acting and fashion. Last year, she was included in iHeartRadio’s “On the Verge” series and received a nomination for “Best New R&B Artist,” and she’s showing no signs of slowing down. This year, she’ll release her highly-anticipated new EP, and we got all the juicy details!

PC: What’s been your key to success and how are you able to juggle it all?
Kayla: There have been a lot of things that have helped me over time, definitely learning how to stand in your truth, grinding hard every day, and remaining humble have all helped me.

Kayla: London On The Track produced my upcoming EP and I think people will be surprised to hear a different side of his music as well as be able to hear my sound as a whole.

PC: Do you have a favorite track on the album and what can you tell us about that song?
Kayla: Right now, my favorite track is called “Lit.” It’s a fun, up-tempo record that puts me in a good mood, especially before I’m going out.

PC: You just wrapped a North American tour. What is your favorite part about hitting the road?
Kayla: My favorite part is being able to perform for the fans and make new ones. I love being able to do what I love every day.

PC: Were there any cities you were particularly excited to perform in?
Kayla: I was super excited to perform in L.A. All of my friends and family were able to come and I feel like it was the best show of the tour.

PC: What is a typical day on tour like?
Kayla: A typical day on tour is arriving in the next city at around 8am, checking into the hotel, napping, getting some food, going into hair and makeup, sound-checking, and then performing!
