Guys, we can’t believe it, but tonight’s the season finale of Shadowhunters. This book to television adaptation is another winner for Freeform. And, it feels like just yesterday the series kicked off and quickly became one of our guilty pleasures. But, don’t fret! Season 2 will be here in no time. To celebrate, we’ve put together our favorite moments from Season 1.
Shadowhunters airs at 9 PM EDT on Freeform.

No list would be complete without the moment that Clary finds out she comes from a line of Shadowhunters. She’s just a human-angel hybrid who’s destined to hunt down demons (the ushe). That’s one hell of a birthday surprise!

Hello, Sizzy! Who doesn’t love all the ’ships in The Mortal Instrument series? It’s definitely hard to pick a favorite (so we won’t). But, scenes that involve Simon and Izzy are electric. Can you feel the chemistry? Huge kudos to Alberto Rosende and Emeraude Toubia.

If you’re a fan of the book series, you know that Jace and Alec are parabatai. What does that mean? They’re a pair of warriors who fight together—they’re closer than brothers, bound together by oath. Dominic and Matthew have done a fantastic job showcasing their characters’ complicated relationship.

In Episode 7, Clary pieces together all the clues and finally finds the cup. Was anyone else relieved?

This was one of the best episodes all season long (and, trust me, there were many). It really showcased the actors’ talent. We got to see them all in a completely different light. Normally, I wouldn’t be a huge fan of these kinds of episodes since they feel unnecessary for the storyline but this one definitely worked. The writers did a fantastic job making sure there was a purpose (It was a way for Clary to find Valentine).

It definitely came as a surprise when Lydia dropped the charges against Isabelle since she’s the reason Isabelle went on trial in the first place. But, at every turn this season, Lydia has surprised us!
We’ve seen glimpses of Magnus and Alec’s relationship throughout the season. But, it came to the forefront in Episode 12. All season long, Alec has been battling with his inner turmoil. This scene represents a young man coming to terms with who he is.
