Ones to Watch: Teddy Edwards

Well, folks, another year has come and gone. From Shawn Mendes dropping his highly-anticipated sophomore album to Meghan Trainor winning her first GRAMMY for “Best New Artist,” it’s been quite the year for music. But, here at Pop Culturalist, we’re looking ahead. And, one artist on our radar is Teddy Edwards. The talented singer-songwriter recently released his new single, “My Name,” and, well, it’s our jam.

At only seventeen-years-old, Teddy Edwards is undoubtedly an artist to watch. The New York-based musician is bringing together the best of pop and R&B. And, our ears have never been more thankful. He’s young, driven, and ambitious. At the age of four, he started playing piano. Shortly after, he picked up the guitar. And, by nine, he started writing songs. Yes, at NINE! Can you say wowza?

In 2017, he’s poised to take the music industry by storm with his forthcoming EP. His music is instantly relatable with its message about making mistakes and how to learn from them. It’s his vulnerable and honest songwriting that’ll propel him to the top of the charts. Listen to the single below and let us know your thoughts! And, make sure to keep your eye out in 2017 for Teddy.
