Ones to Watch: Sarah Desjardins

Sarah Desjardins has been busy. This Canadian-born actress has been obsessed with acting since she was a young child. She’s come a long way since acting in school plays. Sarah’s career–so far–has taken her from Lifetime movies like Magic Beyond Words: The J.K Rowling Story to the Hub Network’s Clue to The CW’s Supernatural. This year Sarah has had four projects come out: Unleashing Mr. Darcy, A.R.C.H.I.E.Project Mc², and Syfy’s Van Helsing. If you don’t know about the last two, you should.

Van Helsing is about about legendary Abraham Van Helsing’s distant relative, Vanessa. Vanessa must save humanity from the vampires that have taken over. Sarah plays Catherine, one of the survivors of the Uprising. Her drive to protect Callie and, obviously, to survive makes her interesting to watch. For anyone even peripherally interested in vampires, this is a must-see show.

If vampires aren’t your thing, though, try watching Project Mc². It can be found on Netflix. Project Mc² is a great show for young teens about four high school girls who are a part of a spy organization. Promoting being smart and into science is the basis of this fun show. Maddy McAlister is Sarah’s character in season 3. As the older sister of McKeyla, our main spygirl, Sarah gets plenty of wonderful lines to inspire girls like: “Never downplay how much you know or how hard you work.” Sarah’s mysterious and devious portrayal of Maddy will make you want to keep watching to find out exactly what is going on.

Not only is Sarah Desjardins delightful to watch on screen, but she is also delightful offscreen. Anyone who tries to channel Rory Gilmore for Halloween gets a thumbs up from us!

We’re sure that everyone will be seeing more of Sarah Desjardins in the years to come. In the meantime, be sure to follow Sarah on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
