Man Crush Monday: Sam Heughan

With only about one month until the season 2 premiere of Starz’s dynamite historical drama television series, Outlander, all we can think about is Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser. Fans of Diana Gabaldon‘s hefty Outlander series rabidly devoured every bit of news pre-production and during production. As with all adaptations, casting was every fan’s main focus. In this case, the casting directors were on point–especially with Sam Heughan. Sam Heughan IS Jamie Fraser. Heughan wonderfully captures Jamie’s love for Clare, his sense of honor, his strength (in combat as well as strength of spirit), and his vulnerability (those scenes where he was tortured by Captain “Black Jack” are excruciating to watch). Plus, who can resist that Scottish accent?!

Check out Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser (don’t worry, I’ll catch you when you swoon):

Not only does Sam Heughan nail Jamie Fraser emotionally, he also embodies Jamie Fraser physically. I mean, look at that smolder:

And then look at his eyes…and how he says his family motto:

And then feel insanely jealous that Clare (the fantastic Caitriona Balfe) has his mind, body, and heart:

Needless to say, there are many, many, MANY moments of greatness from Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser on Outlander (remember when he slept outside Clare’s door to make sure nothing bad happened to her? Amazing.). If you haven’t already seen all of season 1…what are you waiting for? You’re welcome.
