John Wick: Chapter 3 Synopsis Revealed

Some juicy tidbits from CinemaCon came out today for John Wick: Chapter 3.

Chad Stahelski directed the first two films and he’s confirmed to be back at the helm for Chapter 3. Keanu Reeves also returns (obviously) to reprise his role as John Wick, the badass ex-hitman forced out of retirement. Collider reports that the film will pick up right after the cliffhanger of an ending of Chapter 2:

“John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.”

The John Wick franchise features some of the best revenge flicks in recent memory, and I can’t wait to get my eyes on the next film! Shooting starts this month, with a tentative theatrical release date of May 2019. That’s a long wait, but at least we have an appetizer coming this summer.
