Keith L. Williams’ career is skyrocketing to the top. Best known for his breakout role in the box office hit Good Boys, Keith is currently starring in Nickelodeon’s newest series, The Astronauts. Pop Culturalist caught up with this rising talent to learn more about the project!
PC: The last time that we spoke, Good Boys was just about to hit theaters, and it was incredibly well-received. What has that response meant to you?
Keith: I loved speaking with you regarding Good Boys. I’m truly grateful for all the amazing reviews and support!
PC: Tell us about The Astronauts and your character in the series.
Keith: The Astronauts is about a group of kids that accidentally get launched into space after sneaking aboard the spaceship Odyssey II.
I play Martin Taylor who is quiet and the most reserved kid onboard. He brings a healthy dose of common sense, heart, and loyalty to the group.
PC: How similar or different are you to your character, Martin?
Keith: I would say I’m very similar to Martin as we both are protective of our families and enjoy gardening. We are opposite in that I definitely wouldn’t sneak on a spaceship. [laughs]
PC: How did you and the rest of the cast build your bond?
Keith: We bonded over watching movies, role-playing, and hanging out.
PC: What was your favorite scene to film in Season 1? What was the most challenging?
Keith: My favorite scene to film was hands down the spacewalk. The most difficult thing was moving around in the spacesuit because it was so heavy.
PC: If you had to summarize Season 1 in one sentence, what would it be?
Keith: Season 1 is mind-blowing, nail-biting, and will keep you on the edge of your seat with excitement!
To keep up with Keith, follow him on Twitter and Instagram. Watch The Astronauts every Friday at 7/6c.
