Exclusive Interview: Pop Culturalist Chats with Good Girls’ Lidya Jewett

Audiences have watched Good GirlsLidya Jewett and her character Sara Hill grow up before their eyes. As Sara’s approached adolescence, we’ve shared in her triumphs and wallowed in her missteps.

The series—now in its third season—follows three suburban moms who find themselves in desperate circumstances and decide to take action into their own hands, risking everything in the process.

Pop Culturalist caught up with standout Lidya Jewett to learn more about what’s ahead for Sara and the biggest lesson she’s learned on set. Plus, Lidya shares five fun facts that you may or may not know about her!

PC: What can fans expect from Season 3 of Good Girls?
Lidya: Although I can’t say much, I can say that in the next season the viewers will definitely be surprised and excited to see the changes in all the characters, especially in Sara. All I can say is that Sara is growing up and challenging her parents in ways that she didn’t before. She is picking up on little details from behind the scenes and starting to figure certain things out.

PC: You’ve been a part of this cast since Season 1. What’s been the biggest takeaway?
Lidya: I am so thankful to be a part of this cast, and the biggest takeaway has been that building relationships over time really does strengthen your connection both in front of and behind the camera.

PC: Has anything surprised you about Sara’s journey? What can you tease about her arc this season?
Lidya: I mean, in the moment, certain things have surprised me about Sara. But afterwards, when I see the reason behind it, I take on a whole new view and understanding about it. All I can say about Sara’s development this season is that she tests her parents and gains the confidence to make sure her voice is heard by them, even if it gets her in trouble.

PC: What has Sara taught you?
Lidya: Sara has taught me to be strong and confident and never waver in yourself. She has taught me by showing me her strength and confidence and times when she was challenged but never gave up.

PC: Like you said, this season we see Sara start to challenge Ruby. What can you tell us about their relationship in Season 3?
Lidya: Sara and Ruby go head to head on more than one occasion. Since Sara is growing into her teen years, she is challenging her parents more than she usually does, but she is especially challenging Ruby. Sara is a very smart girl, so she is able to pick up on details of what her parents are doing and voices her opinions, especially to her mom.

PC: If you had to summarize Season 3 in one sentence, what would it be?
Lidya: That’s a hard one! If I had to summarize it in one sentence, I would have to say, Season 3 is action-packed, exciting, surprising, and has very interesting twists and turns.

5 Fun Facts about Lidya

1. She loves school, especially math and science.
2. She loves songs that aren’t mainstream but she still listens to and likes the popular ones.
3. She’s obsessed with animals.
4. She likes looking at colleges she might attend and majors she might pursue in the future.
