Exclusive Interview: Pop Culturalist Chats with For the People’s Nathan Arenas

Nathan Arenas rose to fame as camper Jorge Ramirez on Disney Channel’s Bunk’d. His performance won over audiences around the world and established him as an actor to keep your eye on.

This winter, Nathan can be seen on ABC’s hit drama, For the People, playing Alex Kimball. Pop Culturalist chatted with Nathan about For the People, Bunk’d, and more!

For the People Questions

PC: Tell us about For the People, your character, and what drew you to that project?
Nathan: For the People follows talented professionals as their lives intersect both in and out of the courtroom. I really like this show. Once I got to audition for it, I was really excited. My character is Alex. He’s an honest kid who wants everything to be okay.

PC: Did your experience on Bunk’d help prepare you for your role on For the People?
Nathan: Although Jorge and Alex are very different, Bunk’d did help me prepare!

PC: Were you able to draw any comparisons between the two characters?
Nathan: One similarity between the two is they both have big hearts and are very playful.

PC: What can you tease about Alex’s storyline?
Nathan: He is a kid who gets in some trouble…you’ll have to watch the rest to find out! [laughs]

Career Questions

PC: How did you discover your passion for acting?
Nathan: I was inspired by so many public speakers and actors to purse something I’ve always wanted to do!

PC: What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned being a part of this industry?
Nathan: One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that every time you hear a “no” you can’t give up. You also REALLY have to want to do this or else nothing is going to happen.

PC: How do you balance your career and being a normal kid?
Nathan: I like to think of my set work as a fun thing like a sport so that way I’m always in normal kid mode.
