Exclusive Interview: Pop Culturalist Chats with Danger Force’s Luca Luhan

Actor Luca Luhan is fighting the forces of evil as Bose in Nickelodeon’s Danger Force. The Henry Danger spinoff finds Captain Man (Cooper Barnes) preparing the next wave of superhero sidekicks as they learn to harness their powers following the Omega Weapon Explosion. One of those sidekicks is Luca’s character, Bose, who can lift things with his mind! Pop Culturalist caught up with Luca to chat about Danger Force and why it’s his favorite role to date!

Career

PC: How did you discover your passion for acting?
Luca: I always thought it would be really cool to be on TV when I was younger. Eventually, a friend of mine who was an actress introduced us to our agent and I started auditioning. I loved it! I was ten when we signed with my agent.

PC: Who or what has had the biggest influence on your career?
Luca: My parents have definitely had the biggest influence on me because they are always driving, coaching, watching, or supporting me. Without them, I don’t know where I would be. I definitely wouldn’t be doing this interview. [laughs]

PC: You’ve had a lot of success already in your young career. When you look back, is there a moment that stands out?
Luca: I remember the moment when I booked Danger Force. I was driving back from the final audition. My agent called and pretended to be sad. She told us she was the only person on the call. That made us think that I didn’t get the part. She then told us that all my agents and managers were on and I got it!

PC: How do you balance your career and life as a normal kid?
Luca: I still make sure to talk to all my friends from my original school and take advantage of the weekends.

Danger Force

PC: Tell us about Danger Force, your character, and what drew you to this project.
Luca: I thought that it would be a lot of fun to play the not so smart kid of the group. I had never done it before and I think I was right. Bose is definitely one of my favorite characters I have ever been able to play.

PC: What should fans know about Bose? What can you tease about Bose’s arc this season?
Luca: Bose is not super smart, although he is super funny. He just doesn’t know it. Bose is in it for fun. He doesn’t argue with the others. He likes everyone. He is always up for a challenge.

PC: What role does Bose play in the group?
Luca: Bose is the Joey Tribbiani of the group. He isn’t very smart, but he can still bring a lot to the group.

PC: The four superheroes-in-training have to learn to harness their power in the series. If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Luca: I would want to be invisible because I could use it to fight and also scare my friends!

PC: Do you have a favorite moment/scene that you can’t wait for fans to see?
Luca: In the first episode, we are all frantically trying to get ready to fight crime and I spill our gum everywhere. I also transform into Mika’s outfit. It was our first scene we shot in the Man’s Nest, which was pretty exciting.

PC: How does it feel to continue the Henry Danger legacy?
Luca: It’s so exciting, especially because I watched Henry Danger when I was younger and getting to work with these people and call them friends makes me feel just truly grateful.

To keep up with Luca, follow him on Instagram. Catch new episodes of Danger Force every Saturday at 8/7c on Nickelodeon.
