Exclusive Interview: Morris Cornbread on Authenticity, Ambition, and the Rise of Cornbread Productions

In a digital landscape overflowing with creators, Morris Cornbread rises above the noise with a voice that’s unmistakably his own. Rooted in authenticity and sharpened by years of observation, his work captures the chaos, humor, and humanity of New York City—transforming subway platforms and street corners into his personal stage.

Now, with Cornbread Productions, he’s expanding his reach and vision—bringing that same raw energy to new formats and bigger storytelling. We caught up with Morris to talk about building community, honoring where he came from, and the collaborators he’s manifesting next.

PC: The digital landscape is full of incredible creators, but Subway Oracle stands out with a distinct perspective. How did you discover that voice and build such a strong connection with your audience?
Morris: My voice stays consistent on and off camera, and I think that authenticity makes me a reliable source for New York. I draw a lot of inspiration from my childhood—I’ve always told raunchy, edgy jokes to everyone, from classmates and teachers to random people on the street. Building this connection with people took time, and it’s taken a lot of vulnerability and bravery—something I’ll continue to lean into.

PC: How do you stay on top of trends while ensuring your content remains timely, relevant, and true to your voice?
Morris: I like catching trends toward the tail-end—or just watching from a distance.

PC: You’ve already accomplished so much in your career—has there been a moment that truly caught you off guard or something you never expected?
Morris: I always knew I was going to use my business, but actually creating a business account and putting money into it really surprised me. It was one of those moments where you realize you followed through on everything you said you would. And recently, working with Dunkin really caught me off guard in the best way. There used to be a Dunkin by my high school—that was the go-to spot for all of us to meet up and hang out.

PC: You also founded Cornbread Productions. Can you share more about the mission behind it and what’s next for the company?
Morris: I came up with the idea for Cornbread Productions back when I was making YouTube vlogs in high school. I remember ending one of them with a black screen and a caption that read ‘Cornbread Productions’—and it just stuck! Now, I want to expand the company by adding more incredible work to its catalog. I’d love to move into longer-form film and collaborate with some of my heroes—people like Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Uzi, Carti, Samuel L. Jackson, Jordan Peele, and Michael B. Jordan, just to name a few.

PC: What’s the best piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out as a creator?
Morris: Never give up. You won’t be in the same position a year from now—you’re constantly evolving, and so is the world around you.
